A unique grid of centenary olive trees

In the second half of the 16th century the estate was walled and divided into three zones: woodland, farmland, and a reserved area next to the house where the kitchen garden and gardens were formed.

The olive trees were cultivated for oil production, and the estate was equipped with a granite-wheel mill and a beam press — in the Roman tradition — that survived until recent times. Olive oil production continued until the 20th century.
